On June 29, 2009 at 2123 hrs. Station 400 and Rescue 300 were dispatched for a low angle rescue in the area of 77 North Hills Avenue. Upon arrival, Chief 400 reported a youth who had fallen down into a storm drain approximately 20 feet below. Crews from 400 and 300 assisted EMS personnel from Second Alarmers in packaging the patient. Crews then removed the patient from the storm drain via stokes basket and ground ladders. The rescue was completed in 17 minutes and the youth was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital.
